about me

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2016.

Then, following a summer of log cabin building and an ill-fated period in New York, I returned to the West Midlands and opened a bar.

Inside of an old handle factory on River Street in Birmingham, I led a team through the total refurbishment of over 10,000 square feet of warehouse space. We installed meeting areas, manufacturing facilities, our bar, a pizza restaurant and offices. We called it Dig Brew, and made over 200 beers during the 6 years of its operation.

Amidst the chaos of the Covid 19 pandemic we produced bottled products that reached a global market as far as Japan and Australia. [see]

During our time in Digbeth we collaborated with Infinite Opera who created “Besse”, an opera about the history of beer making and witchcraft. Shown in multiple parts on temporary stages made within the brewery, this work went on to be performed Internationally and as part of the Tête à Tête’s Opera Festival in London (2022).

Dig Brew closed in 2023 and in 2024 the University of Birmingham commissioned a collection of the design of Dig Brew to be held permanently in its archive.

OB Works is a synthesis of my studies in Fine Art, the branding and storytelling work undertaken at Dig Brew, and the design of furniture, spaces and objects that has been a constant focus of my work throughout the last 15 years. My background also includes experience in photography, copywriting, campaign planning, and management, allowing me to approach projects with a creative and strategic perspective.

Based in Bristol, I work in a specialist design and fabrication studio, crafting interiors, artworks and bespoke furniture for domestic and commercial clients. ‘OB Works design’ is an inherently collaborative process and I take great joy in partnering with people and organisations to create experiences that expand and enrich how we live and work together.

If you’d like to discuss a design, fabrication, or consultancy commission please get in touch. I’d love to hear about your ideas and explore how they can be brought to life.
